Smurfit Kappa is hosting The Americas Innovation Event in Dallas on September 21, an event designed to bring together the company’s North American and Latin American customers and highlight the future of packaging. An exhibition of the latest packaging innovations will also be on display.

The event will take place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Irving, Texas, close to the recently opened regional Smurfit Kappa Experience Center.

The event is the first one hosted by the company in the region and follows a number of successful events throughout Europe, where customers gathered to see how packaging can help improve their business in a collaborative environment.

This event builds on the recent opening of Smurfit Kappa´s first regional Experience Center in Dallas last June. This Center is designed to create packaging innovation for business success. This is done utilizing packaging expertise, customer and shopper insights and technology. Two more Experience Centers will be opened later this year in Colombia and Mexico.

Ken Hughes, a consumer and shopper behaviorist, Zoe Chance, a Yale marketing professor, and Arco Berkenbosch, VP of development and innovation at Smurfit Kappa, are scheduled to speak at the event,

“These events provide us with the unique opportunity of engaging with our stakeholders in a groundbreaking exchange of innovative ideas and solutions, building the future of packaging together,” notes Berkenbosch.

Attendees will be able to have an interactive shopper experience in the Store of the Future and use virtual reality to get a 360-degree view of Smurfit Kappa’s FSC certified and packaging lab. The event culminates with an awards ceremony that acknowledges the best packaging innovations and designs.
