Dr. Mike Andrews, process technology and application development at Windmoeller & Hoelscher (W&H), will present “A Comparison of Extrusion Processes and their Effect on Film Properties” at the two-day AMI Multilayer Films Conference June 27-28 at the Marriott O’Hare hotel in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Andrews’ presentation examines films produced from three extrusion processes and evaluates their key barrier properties as well as the effects of film structure on physical properties and downstream converting.
Dr. Andrews joined W&H in 2016, building on his long career in the plastics industry. He spent 17 years with Gloucester Engineering in Europe and the United States, and more recently served as the director of product and application development in biopolymers at Metabolix in Massachusetts. He holds a Ph.D. in Polymer Science and Technology from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in the UK.
