Flint Group Narrow Web will host a seminar sponsored by Alexander Watson Associates at its Center for Technical Excellence in Rogers, Minnesota, May 23-24.
The workshop, titled “Introduction to heat shrink-sleeve label technologies,” is an interactive and comprehensive guide to the technologies and processes involved with shrink-sleeve labels. Workshop activities are presented by Flint Group Narrow Web and key industry suppliers. The seminar will be presented with simultaneous Spanish translation to accommodate both English- and Spanish-speaking attendees.
During day one of the seminar, attendees will be introduced to ink theories, pre-press technologies designed for shrink printing and a live press demonstration. On day two, Accraply will offer equipment demonstrations from slitting to seaming and application of sleeves, and shrinking in steam tunnels.
“AWA events typically rotate locations year to year. However, the popularity of this seminar and the superb partnership with Flint Group Narrow Web and Accraply has worked so well that we return to Minnesota for a fifth consecutive annual event,” says Corey Reardon, president and CEO of Alexander Watson & Associates. “With the significant support and participation of leading international companies in this growing technology arena, we have been able to create a very special opportunity for anyone who needs to gain a sound education in heat shrink sleeves.”
Participants will be given a printed manual featuring all presentations and other useful reference materials. In addition to gaining valuable insight into this growing application, attendees will enjoy a wonderful opportunity for peer networking and a chance to extend personal contacts across the industry.
“Flint Group is excited to increase customer awareness of the shrink-sleeve application by hosting this seminar,” says Kelly Kolliopoulos, global marketing director at Flint Group Narrow Web. “Attendees will see firsthand the flexographic printing of shrink-sleeve labels using LED-cure technology. We consider LED cure to be a step-change innovation, enabling accelerated growth of shrink sleeves. We are happy to welcome customers to this seminar on the future of narrow-web printing.”
This seminar is supported by industry partners Accraply, Creative Edge Software, Klockner Pentaplast, CSW Inc. and Flint Group Narrow Web, with special thanks to Phenix Label for bringing shrink-sleeve printing to life in support of this special workshop event.
