TC Robbie of Lenexa, Kansas, part of TC Transcontinental Packaging, won the 2016 “Best of the Best” Workplace in the Americas Award by the Printing Industries of America.

The TC Robbie team received its honor last month during a ceremony held at the plant. With this honor, TC Robbie was recognized for its outstanding human relations efforts that contribute to a successful workplace. This is the fourth time TC Robbie has won the bestowed “Best of the Best” Workplace in the Americas Award.

“A key aspect of our vision is to invest in our most valuable asset: our employees. Providing them with an outstanding workplace is an effective way for us to express our commitment,” says Lisa Kist, director of human resources at TC Robbie. “This is why it is an honor to be recognized by the industry as a trailblazer employer.”

This recognition demonstrates that TC Robbie is a leading innovator from the inside out. Some of its workplace innovations include:
•    The Robbie Wellness Center: a 2,500-square-foot on-site gym that’s free to all team members.
•    The “I Make a Difference” Program: annual $1,000 individual grants to support each employee’s personal development and participation in the community.
•    Community Matters Program: three paid days off each year for TC Robbie employees to give back through volunteer work.
•    Robbie Sons and Daughters Scholarship Program: college scholarship program available to all college-age children of team members.

Michael Makin, President and CEO of Printing Industries of America, agrees. “‘Best of the Best’ winners routinely exhibit the highest commitment to success in many ways, but particularly through their employees,” says Michael Makin, president and CEO of the Printing Industries of America. “Congratulations to TC Robbie.”

A panel of human resources professionals with decades of experience in the graphic arts industry reviewed the submissions for the 2016 Best Workplace in the Americas Awards. All of the winning companies actively show their employees that they care about their work environment, their personal goals and ambitions, and the needs of the company. In order to be recognized for this award, companies must excel in eight different categories: management practices, work environment, training and development, financial security, workplace health and safety, work-life balance, recognition and rewards, and health and wellness.
