Bemis North America was honored by the Flexible Packaging Association (FPA) Flexible Packaging Achievement Awards for its Hunt’s Recipe Ready tomato paste pouch, which earned the 2017 Highest Achievement Award. It also earned four other awards, Gold Awards in Sustainability, Extending the Use of Flexible Packaging and Packaging Excellence, and a Silver Award in Printing and Shelf Impact.

The 2017 Flexible Packaging Achievement Awards were presented March 1 at the FPA Annual Meeting in Boca Raton, Florida. The awards were accepted by William Jackson, senior vice president and chief technology officer of Bemis Company.

Hunt’s Recipe Ready tomato paste pouch delivers a convenient alternative to the traditional 6-ounce tomato paste can. The new format meets changing consumer demographics and lifestyles by providing a convenient, portion-controlled 2-tablespoon serving of tomato paste. Consumers simply tear, dispense and toss.

The lightweight alternative to the 6-ounce can delivers equal performance with less material and less weight. In addition, the smaller, premeasured portion means consumers can avoid food waste due to unused paste.
