Label Technology Inc., a converter of pressure-sensitive labels, flexible packaging and finished pouches, has announced that its flexible packaging production facility received Good Manufacturing Practice recognition from the American Institute of Baking.

This certifies compliance with the requirements of AIB International’s Consolidated Standards for Food Contact Packaging Manufacturing Facilities.

The AIB Food Contact Packaging Recognition indicates that the facility was judged to be wholesome and safe for the manufacture of food contact packaging and is based on meeting standards related to material handling, equipment maintenance, cleaning and sanitizing, pest management, and food safety programs. Passing the inspection audit confirms that products are manufactured in a clean environment with comprehensive Good Manufacturing Practices.

“Our score of 985 (out of a possible 1000) received in December 2016 validates all the hard work and commitment the employee-owners of Label Technology have made to maintain a world-class, food-safe facility,” says David Bankson, president and CEO of Label Technology.  “In addition, this is the best score we have received since beginning the certification process. We will continue to ensure that our flexible packaging converting facility addresses all likely hazards in products, equipment and environment.”
