The FPA 2016 Fall Executive Conference had a record-breaking 134 attendees and welcomed speakers that focused on topics and issues important to the flexible packaging industry, such as material recovery for the future, flexible packaging advocacy, the advantages of switching to flexible packaging, merger and acquisition perspectives, flexible packaging market growth opportunities and an update on the polyolefin market.

In addition to industry content, FPA provided insight into the economy and upcoming presidential election. Glenn Thrush, Politico’s chief political correspondent and host of the 2016 election podcast Off Message, offered his insight into the 2016 presidential election with the discussion “Behind the Scenes & Unvarnished: Today’s Political Landscape and the Race for the White House.” Rich Karlgaard, publisher and columnist for Forbes, spoke on the topic “How the 2016 Elections Will Rock Your Business.”

Dr. Beck Weathers, whose appearance was sponsored by Charter NEX Films Inc., Flint Group and Sun Chemical Corp., told attendees about his experience of surviving a horrific storm on Mount Everest in 1996.

The conference also included many networking opportunities for FPA members, with special thanks from the association to Berry Plastics, Bobst North America, Comexi North America, Energy Sciences, ExxonMobil Chemical Co., HP, Inteplast Engineered Films, Nordmeccanica NA, Nova Chemicals, Siegwerk USA Co. and Westlake Chemical Corp. for their support of the FPA 2016 Fall Executive Conference Networking Events.
