Bobst plans to open an office in Lagos, Nigeria, to enhance the support provided to customers in West and Central Africa.

A formal announcement was made earlier this month at an event attended by about 50 VIP guests, including Nigerian government officials, Bobst representatives and many area packaging and label companies.

“West Africa, and Nigeria in particular, is a very dynamic market," says Samir Khoudja, Bobst managing director for the Middle East. "By opening an office in Lagos, the city with the (largest) population in the most populous country in Africa, we will be closer to our customers and able to provide them with an even higher standard of service. Establishing this presence in Lagos is a significant step for Bobst and we expect that it will lead to further expansion in the region.”

The company currently has a sales and service center in Tunis, Tunisia, with overall responsibility for Bobst activities in Africa and the Middle East. The new office in Lagos will cover Nigeria and the wider West Africa region, providing pre-sales assistance and technical support for Bobst sheet-fed and web-fed customers.
