A new 15,000-square-foot facility in Morristown, Tennessee, is undergoing construction and will house a high-speed, 3.3 meter metallizer for Inteplast Group’s AmTopp division, which specializes in oriented polypropylene films.

The completion date is estimated December 2016 and the advanced metallizer will begin production in the first quarter of 2017.

“We are in business to serve our customers and support their growth,” says Homer Hsieh, AmTopp’s president. “This addition will increase the total number of OPP metallizers we operate in North America to four and allow us to continue to expand in this strategic market segment.”

The company says the Morristown facility will meet AmTopp’s growing customer demand.

“This progress shows our ongoing commitment to driving technology,” says Jim Ashmore, vice president of OPP sales. “It comes on the heels of our recent investment in a second 8.7 meter OPP line in our Gray Court, South Carolina, facility, scheduled to begin production later in the year.”
